Strategies for Success
I have seen people who have poor subconscious programming attempt to become financially successful by learning some real estate or stock investing strategy or learning some trade or other and fail miserably. Finding no success in that strategy, they look for a new one and fail there as well. So, they continue time and again trying one strategy after another repeatedly failing, over and over. This is the cycle of failure.
The problem is not the strategy. The reason they tried the strategy in the first place was because they saw multiple other people successfully using that strategy to get a certain result. The strategy works. It just doesn’t work for them.
I am convinced that no strategy will work for a failure, because they are programmed to be a failure. And any strategy will work for the successful because they are programmed to be a success. This is why some people have the Midas touch or live the charmed life, and some don’t.
I am reminded of the guy who sold 1000s of gratitude rocks at $10 each in South Africa to raise money for charity. What a strategy! Rocks are everywhere for free! And there was nothing special about his rocks, they weren’t imported, they didn’t have anything carved into them. He did it because he knew he couldn’t fail. And so can you if you have a success oriented self-image.
I think we have all seen two people do the same things and get different results. And so it is with all aspects of life. Two people might be working just as hard doing the same thing and one reaches their goals and another fails. What’s the real Difference between them? It isn’t what you can see on the outside. It is the millions of little subconscious things happening on the inside that create the reality on the outside.
Until you change your subconscious beliefs and subconscious self-image, you will get the same results you have always gotten because your subconscious mind is hell bent on creating for you the physical reality patterned after your subconscious spiritual reality.
There are a number of life hacks which I am anxious to share with you regarding how to succeed in life, how to get paid the most for your skill set, how to never wonder if you should have asked for more money in a job interview, etc. But I know that until you change your subconscious program, none of those amazing insights will serve you well. It doesn’t matter if you know the answers to financial success if you can’t use them. And until you’re programmed correctly, you can’t use them.
The Big Difference between those who succeed and those who do not is that those who succeed in any area of their lives have first succeeded to create their spiritual reality within themselves. Those that do not have not. The good news is that once that spiritual reality is created internally, it is only a short matter of time before it is created physically. And at that time, the life hacks and secret tricks of success become profoundly helpful in manifesting the spiritual creation inside you to the outward physical creation.
All things are created spiritually first before they can exist physically. Your life is no exception. And if you know how to do it, it isn’t hard at all…
All Success is Created in the Mind First…
If you want to accomplish something, you have to see yourself doing it successfully first before it can be embedded into your subconscious mind. If you think about doing something and see yourself failing to do it, then you just programmed your subconscious mind and told it what you expect to produce. Any time you think about doing something, be sure to see yourself accomplishing it. Even without significant training or understanding of how the mind works, we see that basic untrained visualization improves performance almost exactly equal to actual practice. The “Llewellyn Encyclopedia” says the following under “Sports Visualizations”:
“Visualization plays a key role in the successes of many great athletes. Most obviously, of course, visualization in-creases confidence and motivation. Less obviously, it affects and sharpens players’ muscles.
This was discovered by physiologist Edmund Jacobson when he had subjects visualize certain athletic activities. Through the use of sensitive detection instruments, he discovered subtle but very real movements in the muscles that corresponded to the movement the muscles would make if they were really performing the imagined activity.
Further research revealed that a person who consistently visualizes a certain physical skill develops “muscle memory” which helps him when he physically engages in the activity. A related study by Australian psychologist Alan Richardson confirmed the reality of the phenomenon.
Richardson chose three groups of students at random. None had ever practiced visualization. The first group practiced free throws every day for twenty days. The second made free throws on the first day and the twentieth day, as did the third group. But members of the third group spent 20 minutes every day visualizing free throws. If they “missed,” they “practiced” getting the next shot right.
On the twentieth day Richardson measured the percentage of improvement in each group. The group that practiced daily improved 24 percent. The second group, unsurprisingly, improved not at all. The third group, which had physically practiced no more than the second, did twenty-three percent better—almost as well as the first group!
In his paper on the experiment, published in Research Quarterly, Richardson wrote that the most effective visualization occurs when the visualizer feels and sees what he is doing. In other words, the visualizers in the basketball experiment “felt” the ball in their hands and “heard” it bounce, in addition to “seeing” it go through the hoop. ”
Did you notice the part talking about those who are visualizing sometimes “missed” and had to “practice” getting the next shot right in their visualization? We were once teaching a small group a principle about how the mind worked by having them visualize a target and with their mind’s eye then imagine themselves shooting an arrow to hit the bullseye of that imagined target. We were shocked to discover that one of our students could not hit the target at all and then after a little coaching they could hit the target but no matter what they did, they could not hit the bulls eye. No matter how close they got to the target they could not hit it. They couldn’t even walk up to the target and touch the arrow’s tip to the bullseye. Talk about a mental block!
While we are certain that with some coaching and desire such a person could quickly overcome that mental block and become a professional archer if they so choose, we know that until they can do it in their mind’s eye, they will not be able to do it in real life. You must be able to accomplish a task in your mind’s eye if you hope to accomplish it in real life.
Before you spend another moment learning a new investing strategy, or spending another dollar on the next multi-level marketing scheme, or searching for a new better paying job, correct your subconscious self-image. If you do not, then you will continue to waste your time, money and emotions getting the same results you have been getting. Commit yourself to clearing out all the illusions created by the negative mental and emotional clutter heaped on you over the years and replace them with the “unlimited potential” of your true god self.
Let me show you how…
As Easy as…
If you VERY pay close attention to anything you do, you will realize that just immediately prior to doing it, you see an image of what you want to do, you adjust that image until it is acceptable and then you make a decision to do it. To illustrate this, hold one of your hands out with your palm up. With your other hand use a finger to draw a triangle on the palm of the hand that is face up.
If you pay close attention, you will realize that in your mind’s eye, just prior to drawing the triangle, three things happened.
First, you create the program. Decide you intend to do something. You decided to draw the triangle and you started to do it by looking at your hand. You saw the image of what you planned to draw. The image told you how large your triangle was going to be and where on your hand it was going to be drawn. If you didn’t like the image, you instantly change it to meet your desires. This is how you plan the program and adjust it. While you are creating the image of the triangle and comparing it to your hand, you are deciding how big or small you want the image and what shape of triangle you want to make.
Second, you accept the program. This is an emotional acceptance. Once you have adjusted the image to your satisfaction, you make the decision to accept it. We accept a program by declaring it good with our emotions. We like it, feel good about it. Get excited about it. This is how you finalize the program in preparation to run it. Once you can see the program as an image in your mind’s eye and you accept it by declaring it good with your emotions, you can execute it or run the program now or save it for later.
Third, you execute or run the program. There is a definite decision to execute or run the programmed image. We see this in play when we try to do something that requires timing. We hold the image of what we want to do in our mind and wait until the perfect moment and then tell our subconscious mind to run that program or image. Then it does.
In a split second, you can create a mini-program for your subconscious mind, accept it and run it. Consciously you observed the results of the program and decided if it was executed correctly or not. Try drawing on your hand again as many times as you want using letters A-Z or numbers 0-9 until you can clearly see the process of creating a program and executing it.
There are only a few things to realize when it comes to programming your subconscious mind.
Realize that we create programs for our subconscious mind all the time. So, if we correct our self-image today, we need to make sure to keep it corrected and regularly take inventory to make sure that it is still programmed the way we want it. We take clues from others and allow that influence to determine our own self-image. Beware of the image that you are creating in others and also that others are attempting to create in you.
Here are the steps for consciously creating and running programs that drive your life experience:
Step 1 – Creating a program:
- Decide you want to do or have something
- Figure out exactly what you want to do and see the mental image. This is as easy as dreaming up something you want. Just pick whatever subconscious program you want to create
- Adjust the image until it is close to what you want. You can always change and adjust it later, but the more detail you have now, the better.
Step 2 – Adjusting the program until it is acceptable:
This is the biggest key to understanding how to program your subconscious self-image. We must accept the program emotionally. These two factors, (image and emotion), each have positive and negative expressions. To understand both sides of these factors, we will use the example of someone who smokes and wants to stop.
Negative Images – The smoker sees themselves smoking and trying to quit. They see themselves putting out cigarettes and removing ashtrays from the house. They think of ways to deal with the cravings and addiction. They tell themselves they are not going to smoke any more.
The image created for the subconscious mind to run is that of a person struggling to stop smoking. The subconscious mind understands that you want to “try to quit smoking”. So, you try to quit smoking and remain in a state of constantly trying to quit smoking. The subconscious mind runs the image you have given it. In addition, the more you try not to think about something, the more time you spend thinking about it.
Try this experiment… I want you to try really hard not to think about elephants. Don’t think about any part of an elephant. Don’t think about their big floppy grey ears and those enormous feet with the funny giant white toenails. Try not to think about the funny tail they have and how baby elephants will hold on to that tail and follow the mommy elephants around. Don’t think about their tusks and big mouths as they open to eat. Don’t think about their balding heads with very little hair.
Did you notice how the harder you tried not to think about elephants the more you did? Using negative images and seeing in your mind’s eye what you don’t want actually has the opposite result. Rather than focus on what you don’t want, focus on what you do want.
Positive Images – The smoker sees himself breathing clean fresh air, having energy, running and being healthy. He sees images of himself doing the things that he wants to do and having the life he wants to have. He sees himself looking in the mirror having clean teeth and clean hands. He sees extra money in the bank. He sees himself putting on clean, fresh smelling clothes and living in a clean house with beautiful white walls and the smell of fresh clean air everywhere filling his lungs and blowing softly through his hair. Taking walks and enjoying life smelling flowers.
Now, we want to really drill in a point. The subconscious mind doesn’t understand words, it understands pictures. Oftentimes, people will try to program their subconscious mind saying things like, “I don’t smoke.” The subconscious mind has to translate these words into a picture. It understands the word I and imagines you and it translates the word smoke into a picture of a smoking cigarette. But when it comes to the word “Don’t” it doesn’t know how to create an image of “don’t”. What is a “don’t” or a “not”? It doesn’t know. I don’t know how to draw a “don’t” either.
So you are left with a picture of you with a cigarette and that is what the subconscious mind thinks of and focuses on as the program you want to run.
You can’t draw a picture of someone NOT doing something unless you leave it out of the picture altogether and show them doing something else.
With this in mind, we must be sure to imagine only those things that we want. Nowhere in the “positive image” did we include smoking at all. We didn’t think about or try to envision quitting or NOT smoking. We only focused on the desired results and life as we want it to have. Do not include any aspect of what you don’t want in your vision of what you do want.
Remember that in order for a program to be acceptable, the Emotions and Feelings regarding the image must all be positive.
Emotions or feelings are essential in programming our subconscious minds or preventing a program! Understanding and using them is vital to the programming process.
We said previously that the subconscious mind does not understand negatives like “No” or “Not” and that is correct. But it does understand negative emotions or feelings like distress, doubt and fear. It also understands the positive emotions like joy, enthusiasm and excitement.
When you have even one negative feeling, your subconscious mind places a hold on the image and waits until you are certain and confident that you want to run that image as a program. For example, if you see yourself as being rich beyond reason but have a latent belief that rich people are mean or evil, that belief will create a negative feeling associated with the image of you being rich and the subconscious mind will place a reservation or hold on that program until the issue is resolved and the negative feeling is replaced with a positive feeling.
You need to examine your negative feelings and the beliefs or concerns that created those negative feelings and resolve them. Once you have resolved all the negative feelings you will find that you are filled with excitement, energy and gratitude toward the image you created and you are ready to make it so.
If you are programming your subconscious mind you must be aware of your emotions!
Along the same lines, be aware of this key related to emotions: Emotions result from judgements we make. If we judge something good, we feel good about it. If we judge something as bad, we feel negative about it. You cannot have a good image or an image that you judge as good unless you feel good about it. If you feel bad about an image you created, it is because you feel bad about something related to that image.
Figure out what makes you feel bad about the image and find a solution like change the image or change your judgement of the image, resolve the issue or find a way to avoid the negative parts so that the negative emotion is no longer associated with that image.
The following is a quick breakdown of the relationship between positive/negative images and positive/negative emotions.
Positive Image + Positive Feelings
Great Results! Excitement, motivation and “Can do it” feeling and attitude! You will certainly experience the things in life that you desire as long as you can maintain this state.
Positive Image + Negative Feelings
You know what you want to accomplish, but you are feeling resistance, fear, doubt or other negative emotions that will have told your subconscious mind to not work toward that image. Until you clear up or resolve all the negative feelings, you will not achieve your desires.
Negative Image + Negative Feelings
Two negatives make a positive. If I were to say I am not going to not drink that juice, then I would certainly drink the juice. In the same way, the negative image of what you don’t want coupled with negative feelings (Fear and worry being the most common), always draws you to what you don’t want. For example, the image of bills you can’t pay along with the worry and fear of experiencing that situation, generally causes your subconscious mind to create that exact experience for you. To correct this issue, replace the image in your mind with the positive image of being able to pay the bills knowing that more than you need is in the bank and feel the feelings of joy, happiness and satisfaction that you can easily pay all of your bills with plenty to spare. (See note “Avoiding Accidents” on the next page.)
Negative Image + Positive Feelings
Because feelings are a result of judgments we make, if you have a negative image that produces positive feelings, you need to realize that the image you have is negative to society or others but that you have judged it to be good or desirable. You cannot have an image that you personally judge as negative while having good feelings about it… If you think about going out and getting plastered and feel excited and happy about it, society may say that as an adult you should not do such things, but you clearly have positive feelings about it. The result is that you will often find yourself getting plastered. It can be tricky to determine if such instances are something you want to change. You have to look at your life goals and decide if your images are aligned with what you want to accomplish in your life. If they are, by all means keep your image and feelings. IF not, figure out what your goal is and create the image/program in your mind with as much detail as it takes to get excited about it. Be honest with yourself and realize that nobody else can successfully write your programs for success. You have to follow your heart, joy and happiness.
Note: Avoiding Accidents and Negative Experiences – When I am driving and I get the image or feeling that I am going to get into a car accident, I know that unless I do something to resolve that feeling, it will become a self-fulfilling prophecy. To avoid this and other issues, I have learned to ask myself the following questions;
1) Do I need to get into a car accident? Will it help me in some way?
2) Do I want to get into a car accident? Will the results be desirable?
3) Can I change or learn or gain what I need to without having this experience?
4) Is it OK if I don’t have that experience?
Answering all these questions honestly and sincerely has always negated the fear or negative energy that would have caused me to unconsciously create an accident and thereby helps me to remove the image of a car accident from my subconscious mind. These same questions can be modified to address any negative image coupled with negative feelings.
Step 3 – Run the program
Many people tell you how to create programs using images, and how to accept the program with your emotions, but few realize that you have to make the decision to run the program. Thinking about the program as if you are watching a movie is like thinking about the shape you want to draw on your hand. Nothing happens until you have first accepted the program and then make that instant decision to run the program. Once you run the program, you can see your finger flying on its own.
Just as when you decided to run the program when you drew a triangle on your hand, so too with any program you create, you need to run it. You have to tell your subconscious mind to “go” or start the program.
The question I hope you’re asking now is, “How do I run the program?”
This part is difficult to explain but easy to do. You run programs all day, every day. It is so natural that you aren’t consciously aware of how to do it. You can keep drawing different shapes on your hand until you can feel or recognize that instant moment in which you have decided to run the program. This will help you to nail it down for yourself.
The easiest way I have found to start the program is to decide that the image is already real. Don’t think about it as a future thing that will come to you because your mind will see it as a saved program that you will run sometime in the future. Simply “accept” the reality that the image you created already exists right now. Believe that you already have the relationship you want or the car you want is in the driveway ready for you to take it out. You already make $100k or $500k.
Say to yourself, “Yes! I did it!” But realize saying it isn’t enough, you have to feel it and be committed to it. When you make the decision to draw the shape on your hand, you commit to doing it and immediately watch go into “observation mode” as your finger begins to work on drawing the shape. You watch as it happens and see if your finger did what you wanted it to do.
The decision is the knowledge that the program is already running. It’s like holding your hand out to see what you are given. Watching with anticipation to see if the program created the results you wanted. Feeling excited and grateful for what is coming.
You need to accept that it is already done as if the image in your mind was something you saw this morning like a memory. If you do it right, then when you see signs that the image has not already happened, you will think and feel that something is wrong. This feedback to your subconscious mind telling it that someone is not right tells your subconscious mind that of all the 4,000,000 bits of information that it processes, you only want to see that information that validates your new program. This will then reinforce the program you want and remove the program you do not want. For example, when you look at your paycheck you should begin to feel like there was a mistake because it should be many times bigger.
This is almost exactly how we reprogrammed our minds to jump from a job making $60k per year to $100k per year and did it in 1-2 months when it became a reality.
Once you have started running the program, the only thing you need to do is maintain the program until it is completed and you get the results you want. Feel confident and happy within yourself knowing that your subconscious mind has immediately begun using its entire effort to correct the discrepancy between what is and what should be based on the image or program you just gave it. You will begin to see things that are in alignment with the new program. Things that you couldn’t see before.
When you see anything that is contrary to what you want, realize that something is wrong with what you see, not what you expect to see. This is how you maintain the program and keep it running while your subconscious mind works to correct the issue.
You don’t want to see something that supports the old program and accidentally replace the new program with the old one. When you see something that doesn’t match up to your self-image, you simply acknowledge that it doesn’t look right and then remember the desired program and run it again by accepting that it already is the current reality.
This should produce a good feeling of excitement and satisfaction if the new program is running again or you will experience a bad feeling and doubt or concern if you need to resolve a conflict within yourself that is preventing the new program from running.
If you have the conflict within yourself, then you need to go back to step 2 and work out the conflict until you can accept the program again. (Conflicts will often happen when two separate and conflicting programs are running at the same time. This conflict must be resolved before you can expect great results.)
It is that easy. We do it every day. You might as well take conscious control of the process so that you can design the life you want.
